American Library Association Conferences - Social Media

ALA Virtual 2020

Awareness of Conference

The conference was originally a face-to-face event but pivoted to virtual due to the pandemic. Leading up to the event I highlighted the low cost and high impact speakers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. (Click through on any image below to view posts.)

Day of Engagement/Posting

During the conference, I supported the conference by live tweeting the main speakers, customer service and scheduled general content for attendees.

Live tweets were shared on ALA’s main social media account while engagement was mainly done through the conference Twitter handle. (Click through on any image below to view posts.)

ALA Midwinter 2021

Content Creation: I created general social media posts encouraging people to register, announcing new speakers and more. Most content was focused on Twitter due to the audience location. Created an Instagram Story video (left) highlighting most popular sessions based on agenda likes.

Reasons to Attend Twitter Campaign: As specific sessions were not finalized when the event was announced, I designed witty graphics and tweets (Reasons to Attend) that highlighted the benefits of conferencing from home. (Click on posts below to view full size version.)
